I just started using Snippets and so far so good. However I have yet to find out how to do something and was hoping someone could help. I use a terminal emulator at work to access an IBM AS400 and have set up the "return" key as "field exit" and the "Control" key as "Enter". I have a lot of repetitive entry items I would like to make Snippets for but don't see any way to record the return key or the control key as a keystroke.

I'm sure I'm just missing something easy, but if someone could enlighten me, that would be great.

It would be nice to be able to change the iTunes playback mode from the Tracks "command line" - perhaps slash commands could work to make it unobtrusive for users not interested in the feature. Something like:

/shuffle - shuffle mode on for whatever is now playing - maybe toggles?
/repeat - repeat mode...
/genius - kick off a new genius playlist based on the currently playing track

etc.

The only reason I haven't is because I don't know that it's a problem with Linkinus exactly. I only flood d/c on the WebChat network which leads me to believe it may be something specific to the network, which is why I was hoping for user input from people familiar with both the software and the IRC network. :\

I'll try submitting my problem that way as well though. After all, I've never had this issue with any other client..

Hey, I recently purchased Linkinus from the app store and was blown away by it. However, I have one issue.

On the WebChat network, whenever I set myself Away or auto-away I will get d/c'd with reason (excess Flood). This only seems to happen on the WebChat network to my knowledge but it's a major issue because it means I can't go Away. cause every time I do I flood and d/c then reconnect as available with my original nick again! If anyone has any ideas as to what may be causing this please let me know as I'm about at the end of my rope here. :(

Hello

Cannot get DCC send and receive to work behind an Apple Airport extreme.

I have the ports open in my firewall required to make this work

SNAK DCC sends and receives no problem

This program no go

Sent many emails never got a reply and it has been 8 days now

Is there anyone who can help?

UpNP is not something people want to use on a firewall but a response or help would be nice.

I have tried active and passive DCC settings no go.

Firewall has port 3000-3005 and I have made the changes also in Linkinus preference.

I got ident to work no problem using an ident server.

And if you do a room list on a large network like Dalnet who has close to 15,000 rooms you join one room and have to reload the rooms again to join another room so 5 minutes wasted all the times to join another room.

Please Help

Hi cheesenightmare,

It's true that the only way to create hyperlinks in Snippets 1.3 is to copy/paste or drag/drop them directly into the contents. We've added this to our feature list for a future release.

Thanks!

kbeezie,

We added this feature because it was requested by several users. Like you said I'm sure most people don't need it.

However, there is a valid use case for it, as the play button on your keyboard doesn't just toggle music: if those apps are open, hit the Play button and VLC starts playing the last video you played, Keynote goes into fullscreen mode, and iTunes plays the selected song.

Snippets do not work if you use an @ symbol. So, if I want a snippet for my email address I want to type daj@ the it fills out the rest. If I remove the @ it works.

"Option-clicking the menubar item will toggle (play/pause) music"

Not to really poke fun, but I have to wonder bout the actual usefulness of that? I mean even a mac I owned over 10 years ago had a playback controls right on the keyboard, not to mention every single apple keyboard I've seen for the last 6 has definitely had em, and any other keyboard would perform the same functions at the same F# key locations.

So adding a feature like that (especially one that requires least one finger on the keyboard while at the same time using the mouse on the other hand versus just a single keyboard touch), just seems... redundant.

... Just sayin'

I am using the beta in the same way I was using the stable release. So far so good, but it has only been a day. Will report back either when the problem resurfaces, or (hopefully) after a few days with no issues.

Thanks for your work on this, and everything else in the beta/upcoming release.
Andrew Davidoff
