You can't. Like the Logging System the Identity System still needs improvement. Right now it will always auto-connect to a new connection with your first identity.
Unfortunately you cannot arrange your identities so you have to edit the connection afterwards and assign another identity with either the i button in the lower right corner or the inspector:
[image]What
couldshould get improved in the Identity System?
- let us arrange identities and nicknames
- let us assign a preferred nickname for a connection, so we don't need to setup one identity for every connection (which is the whole point in this, one would think)
- sorting nicknames after authentication passwords is pointless and should get removed. There's a lot more I'd like to see ;)

Yes, you can™.
Select a connection in the sidebar, edit it with the inspector (the pen icon will open the identity panel). You can select the identity you want to use on that connection there - it is marked with a red shadow.
You can list your favorite nicknames for that identity. They will be used in order of appearance in the list.

nl is right, you can set a preferred name the way he described.
You want the default nickname for any new connection to be reassignable.
Small but important difference I think.
