Default Linkinus Scripts

abrb

  • Description: Announces that you'll “brb” with a random sometimes comical statement.
  • Example Output: brb - Doing brain surgery on myself… again.
  • Syntax: /abrb

apps

  • Description: Lists all currently open applications in the Dock.
  • Example Output: Caltsar is using: Finder, Adium, NetNewsWire, Mail, Linkinus, Safari, Script Editor
  • Syntax: /apps

bender

  • Description: Announces a quote from Bender off of the TV show Futurama.
  • Example Output: Maybe you can interface with my ass! By biting it!
  • Syntax: /bender

color

  • Does not work, being removed from Official Releases

colorme

  • Description: Adds color to your text. (Replaces the above script: color)
  • Example Output:
  • Syntax: /colorme #<color> <text> OR /colorme #<foregroundcolor>,#<backgroundcolor> <text>
  • Example Syntax: /colorme #red This is red. OR /colorme #red,#orange This is red on orange background.

define

  • Description: Provides a definition of the word entered.
  • Example Output: FINISH WHEN DEFINE IS UPDATED.
  • Syntax: /define <word>

extscript

  • Description: Allows the usage of scripts written in languages other than Applescript like Ruby/Python/Perl/PHP/Bash.
  • Example Output: n/a
  • Syntax: /extscript <script name>
  • Notes: To use the alternative scripts, you must created a folder named 'External' inside of the Linkinus Scripts folder. Place all alternative scripts inside of it.

flip

  • Description: Flips and reverses text.
  • Example Output: ¡ʇxǝʇ pǝddılɟ ǝɯos sı sıɥʇ
  • Syntax: /flip <text to flip>

getscript

  • Description: Downloads and/or updates scripts from a remote repository.
  • Example Output: n/a
  • Syntax: /getscript <script name> or /getscript -all
  • Notes: As long as the script exists inside of the repository, it will be downloaded and be ready for usage inside of Linkinus.

google

  • Description: Opens the default web browser and searches google for the term specified. use -out to output to the current channel.
  • Example Output: n/a
  • Syntax: /google <search term> or /google -out <search term>

homer

  • Description: Announces a quote from Homer off of the TV show The Simpsons.
  • Example Output: Homer: Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?
  • Syntax: /homer

itunes

  • Description: Displays current track in iTunes
  • Example Output: Caltsar is listening to “That's Not My Name” by The Ting Tings, from the album We Started Nothing. 192kbps MP3 (★★★★★)
  • Syntax: /itunes

lastfm

  • Description: Outputs your last.fm latest track. Needs to be setup on first run.
  • Example Output: Caltsar just listened to »Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss« by Bloodhound Gang.
  • Syntax (First Run): /lastfm <username>
  • Syntax: /lastfm

leet

  • Description: Converts input text to “leet”
  • Example Output: 7h|5 |5 50m3 1337 73×7
  • Syntax: /leet <text to make leet>

lol

  • Description: Converts input text to “lolspeak.”
  • Example Output: DIS AR TEH SUM LULZ SPEEK TEXT
  • Syntax: /lol <text to make lol>

morse

  • Description: Converts input text to visual morse code.
  • Example Output: -/…./../…/ / /../…/ / /–/—/.-./…/./ / /-.-./—/-.././
  • Syntax: /morse <text to make morse code>

netinfo

  • Description: Outputs network traffic.
  • Example Output: Network Traffic: [en1]: 108 MB in, 79 MB out
  • Syntax: /netinfo

page

  • Description: Displays the current page in defined web browser. No arguments displays default browser.
  • Example Output: Caltsar is viewing “available_scripts [Conceited Wiki]” at http://conceited.net/wiki/doku.php
  • Syntax: /page <s|c|ff|op|om>

paste

  • Description: Pastes to pastie.caboo.se from the clipboard and announces resulting URL.
  • Example Output: http://pastie.org/211083
  • Syntax: /paste

ppaste

qdb

  • Description: Returns a quote from one of the various quote lists.
  • Example Output: Fact No.145: If Chuck Norris were a calendar, every month would be named Chucktober, and every day he'd kick your ass.
  • Syntax: /qdb -list <optional number>
  • Notes: Following lists are currently available -bender, -homer, -chuck, -fuckchuck, -portal, -300, -firefly

reverse

  • Description: Reverses input text.
  • Example Output: txet desrever emos si siht
  • Syntax: /reverse <text to reverse>

rot13

  • Description: Applies ROT13 cypher to input text
  • Example Output: guvf grkg vf ebgngrq 13 punenpgref!
  • Syntax: /rot13 <text to rot13>

shell

  • Description: Allows running of shell commands inside of Linkinus.
  • Example Output: “Sun Jun 8 09:07:50 PDT 2008” (Used the 'date' command.)
  • Syntax: /shell <command>

slap

  • Description: The script will echo a random slap(-like) action if no item has been specified. If an item has been specified, it will be used as item to slap with using /me slaps victim around a bit with a large <item>.
  • Example Output: Caltsar shreds chapel with a blunt knife.
  • Syntax: /slap <target nick> <item> or /slap <target nick>

sysinfo

weather

  • Description: Displays current weather for the defined location.
  • Example Output: Saint Paul, MN / Clear / 46°F 8°C / Humidity: 85% / Wind: W at 0 mph
  • Syntax: /weather <Zip Code|City, State>

xbl

  • Description: Announces information from Xbox Live for the entered GamerTag.
  • Example Output: Xbox Live [ GamerTag: Caltsar | Rep: ★★★☆☆ | Gamerscore: 1190 | Zone: Recreation | Last Played: DOOM ]
  • Syntax: /xbl <gamertag>
